It depends on your what your town can or can't recycle. In general, anything that can be broken into one single material can be recycled. Plastic, metal, paper, cardboard, and glass are some examples.

What's the deal with plastic?
Only certain types of plastic can be recycled. Types of plastic labeled #1-6 can be, but #7s usually cannot be because of the materials used to create it. Also, things such as plastic bags and plastic foam cannot be recycled.

What types of things are made from recycled materials?
Almost everything that is made from plastic, metal, cardboard, paper, or glass can be created from recycled materials.

What is composting?
Composting is the process of reusing organic materials for fertilizer and electricity production.

What can be composted?
Any organic material that isn't contaminated. Organic materials are things made of living, or once living, matter.

Is composting expensive?
Industrial uses for compost may entail costs for equipment or workers, but composting yourself is free! You can make your own compost at home for free and use it in your yard or garden.
