Students and Staff

Get out your dancing shoes because the WINTER BALL is quickly approaching. The semi-formal dance will be held on January 19th from 7:30-10:30 in the lower cafeteria. Tickets go on sale Monday, January 14th and can be purchased in Ms. Major's room (121) between 7:00-7:25 and after school. All students who are bringing outside visitors need to by their tickets by Wednesday, January 16th.

GUIDANCE

Seniors who are interested in taking a spring semester course at USM or SMCC or students who need additional credit to graduate should be aware that college classes begin January 14. Scarborough Adult Education registration is Jan. 23 and classes begin Jan 28.Student should see their guidance counselor ASAP for more information.

Attention seniors: Do your parents need help filling out the Financial Aid Form? If so, remind them that the FAFSA workshop is being sponsored by the guidance department
TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m. in the SPHS library. The Financial Aid Director from SMCC will be on hand to walk them through the process.

Athletics

Thursday's Athletic Announcements:
Boys Basketball will host the Windham Eagles today. The First Team will play at 4:00, the JV Team at 5:30, and the Varsity at 7:00.

Girls Basketball will travel to Westbrook High School to face the Blue Blazes - 4:00 First Team, 5:30 JV and 7:00 Varsity game times.

Music Notes

The Box office for DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is open. Tickets are $8 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults.Box Office Times: Monday -Friday 6:30 PM-8:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 10 am-1 PM


District I Rehearsals:
Treble Choir M, W 6:45 AM and M 2-3:30 PM rehearsals
Mixed Choir T, Th 6:45 AM and W 2-3:30 PM rehearsals
No PM rehearsal on tour day

Congratulations to the Spanish Club for their victory yesterday in the inter language Jeopardy tournament! French and Latin Clubs were tough competitors, but after final Jeopardy, there was no question that Spanish Club had earned the victory. But there will be a rematch in the spring so keep working on that trivia!

THE CARPE NOCTEM WRITER'S GROUP will meet next Tuesday, January 15th in room 122. All are invited.

The Equity Committee will reconvene on Wednesday, January 23rd in
Room #233 at 2:10.We are still looking for more members even if you were unable to
attend earlier in the year.

CELTICS NATION: OUCH! Bitten by BOBCATS!

RED SOX NATION: Apparently the Yankees don’t have enough money for the best pitcher in baseball. Apparently that $50 Hot Dog @ Yankee Stadium just ain’t gonna cut it anymore. I thought perhaps nation dwellers could use a huge belly laugh this morning.
