Today is a Red E Day

THE COMPUTER LAB WILL BE CLOSED TODAY
There will be a CAPTAINS COUNCIL meeting in Room 225 on Wednesday at 2:00. All captains are encouraged to attend.
Get out your dancing shoes because the WINTER BALL is quickly approaching. The semi-formal dance will be held on January 19th from 7:30-10:30 in the lower cafeteria. Tickets go on sale Monday, January 14th and can be purchased in Ms. Major's room (121) between 7:00-7:25 and after school.
There are 450 tickets available. Semi-Formal Attire for gentlemen is a shirt with a collar and tie and pants (no jeans, no hats) and for ladies, a dress with sufficient coverage to allow for ease of movement.
All students who are bringing outside visitors need to by their tickets by Wednesday, January 16th.
GUIDANCE
STUDENTS WILL BE RECEIVING THEIR SCHEDULES FOR SEMESTER 2 IN HOME BASE ON JANUARY 15TH. ADD DROP FOR SEMESTER 2 CLASSES ENDS JANUARY 31ST.
SEMESTER 2 STARTS JANUARY 28TH.
Seniors who are interested in taking a spring semester course at USM or SMCC or students who need additional credit to graduate should be aware that college classes begin January 14. Scarborough Adult Education registration is Jan. 23 and classes begin Jan 28.Student should see their guidance counselor ASAP for more information.
Athletics
**Varsity boys basketball practice has been moved to 3:30 - 5:00**
**JV Boys basketball practice has been moved to 5:00 - 6:30**
The Cheering Squad will compete in an Invitational Tournament at Lewiston High School this evening. The competition begins at 7:00 PM.
The Boys and Girls Swim Teams will host Falmouth at the SP Community Center Pool at 4:00 this afternoon.
On Saturday, the Boys Varsity Basketball Team will host the undefeated Trojans of Thornton Academy in the Beal Gym at 1:00 PM. Boys First Team will play at 10::00 AM and Boys JV will play at 11:30 vs. Thornton Academy also at home in the Beal Gym.
On Saturday, the Hockey Team will travel to the Rochester Ice Arena in New Hampshire to face the Noble Knights. Game time is 6:00 PM.
The Boys and Girls Indoor Track Teams will compete versus Gorham, Noble and McAuley at the Portland EXPO on Saturday. The boys begin at 9:35 AM and the girls at 2:55 PM.
Music Notes
The Box office for DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is open. Tickets are $8 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults.Box Office Times: Monday -Friday 6:30 PM-8:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 10 am-1 PM
District I Rehearsals:
Treble Choir M, W 6:45 AM and M 2-3:30 PM rehearsals
Mixed Choir T, Th 6:45 AM and W 2-3:30 PM rehearsals
No PM rehearsal on tour day
Pit Band for High School Musical rehearses Friday 2- 4 PM and Saturday 3-5 PM

RIOT SQUAD: A new order of shirts has arrived, sizes S-XL. Get your RIOT SQUAD Shirt and be prepared for the rest of the season to cheer your teams on to victory. See Ms. Reardon in the lower gym for your shirt.
THE CARPE NOCTEM WRITER'S GROUP will meet next Tuesday, January 15th in room 122. All are invited.
The Equity Committee will reconvene on Wednesday, January 23rd in
Room #233 at 2:10.We are still looking for more members even if you were unable to
attend earlier in the year.
The Riot Reader folding party will be postponed until next week. Please see Ms. Price for details. Writers and photographers are still more than welcome to contribute. Please stop by 108 for details.
The Junior class is selling Scrubadub car wash vouchers as a fundraiser. The car wash at Scrubadub costs $8 but we are selling the vouchers for $7 so save a buck and support the class!!!! The scrubadub location in South Portland is across from the mall next to McDonald's. Tickets may be purchased from juniors who are selling them or in room 128 (Val Sears' room) Thanks for you support!!!
