Attention juniors and seniors:

Please check your school email in regards to an important message concerning NHS.  If you got an email, please report directly to the auditorium tomorrow (Friday) during home base to go over the application process. Let your home base teacher know today.   If you have any questions, please see Ms. Laplante in room 225.

The US Marines will be in the Guidance Office to meet with interested students on Thursday, February 16 at 10:30AM.  Please sign-up in advance.


Camp Ketcha is hiring summer camp counselors, program staff and lifeguards for their Summer Day Camp in Scarborough. Paid internships are also available. More information is available at http://campketcha.org/employment/.

Sustainability Committee There will be a sustainability team meeting Thursday at 2:00 in room 171 to plan sustainability week.

STAR WARS CLUB:  Are you interested in Star Wars?  A new club is forming where we will  be talking about Star Wars and Watching Star Episodes.  It is a chance to share a common interest and meet new people. Come join us. WE WILL NOT MEET TODAY DUE TO EARLY RELASE.  NEXT MEETING DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON


Open to High School Students in Maine grades 9-12.   Create a poster with a positive awareness message for organ and tissue donation.  Flyers and More information available in Guidance, from our Art Teachers and the School Nurse.   AMAZING Prizes. All Submissions due by March 3, 2017


The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholar/Essay

 Deadline is Wednesday, March 1st.  Applications are available in the athletic office.  One female and one male winner from Maine will receive a $250 scholarship from the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.  State winners are then eligible for a $1500 section scholarship with a chance for a $2500 national scholarship.  Completed applications should be returned to Mr. Livingston for submittal to the MIAAA. For more information please see Ms. Smith or Mr. Livingston in the athletic office.

Criteria for eligibility:

  1. Applicant must be a senior
  2. Applicant must have achieved at least two (2) of the following:

(A) minimum of B+ average;

(B) Ranked in the top 25% of class

(C) ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1100 (Math and Reading)

  1. Applicant must have participated in two sports for at least two years in each sport
  2. Applicant must have earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports
  3. Applicant must complete attached scholar/essay application
  4. Applicant must have a letter of recommendation from the high school athletic administrator/director
  5. School athletic director must be an NIAAA member and a member of their respective state athletic

Administrators association

  1. The principal or athletic director must sign the application to insure that the academic information

submitted is accurate

  1. All hard copy materials must be postmarked or electronic materials sent to the NIAAA State Liaison in

your respective state by your states deadline. (March 1st)
